This job offers the unique combination of working on content in a multidisciplinary team and being a hierarchical manager for junior and medior business developers (7 FTE). Together with the Domain Lead Controlling, you will lead the business side of the Controlling Domain in the Finance Grid. Through your pivotal role, you will help us accelerate the optimization and improvement of our processes.
Your job
You will combine working as an expert Business Developer/Analyst with the role of Lead Business Developer. We are a relatively small grid which will allow your expertise plenty of room to blossom.
The majority of your time (60%) is spent on your primary Business Developer role. You are an expert Business Developer/Analyst with a focus on Data Modelling. Day-to-day, you are involved in the creation and functional analysis of Finance data; specifically, those involving management information. You will lead projects within the scope of your team and cross-teams and you will closely cooperate with the Product Owner of the team in setting and executing on the vision. Together with your colleagues from Business Control, Financial Control and the Grid, you take end-to-end responsibility for the delivery of Controlling requests. These are very diverse, which means you must be able and willing to quickly switch between various areas of expertise. You translate business requirements into designs in collaboration with your IT colleagues in the team. Connecting with and delving into the data challenges of Controlling are essential skills for a successful Business Developer. Within your role, you are responsible for improving data quality, resolving any data delivery issues and ensuring a timely delivery of data while constantly communicating with stakeholders to keep them in the loop.
The other 40% of your time will be dedicated to the responsibilities as a Lead Business Developer, where you manage the team of 7 FTE junior and medior business developers in the Controlling Domain. In that role, you will coach colleagues in their job and ensure that they grow their business development/analysis craftmanship. Together with the Domain Lead Controlling you are responsible for the HR part of the domain. You will also be part of the domain leadership and steer the domain together with the IT Lead, Domain Lead, Product Owners and Chapter Leads.
Working environment
You will work in the Controlling Domain of the Finance Grid. The Finance Grid is part of Finance and Risk Business Grids Department (FRBG), itself a part of the Finance function of the bank. The FRBG Department enables the bank-wide Finance and Risk strategy by for example creating insights from data and keeping the systems in compliance with the latest regulations.

Our teams work according to the agile scrum methodology and the teams are really at the core of the Domain. The Domain consists of four teams in total: two Data Domain Store (DDS) teams, a Reporting team working with Power BI and a Performance and Budget team working with Tagetik. You will work in one of the DDS teams. Standardization, rationalization and innovation of the management information processes and are important change topics in addition to the recurring monthly processes.
Your profile
You are a driven person who has a passion for the combination of thinking and doing. You have ‘improvement’ firmly imprinted on your mind, get energy from working with data, performing analyses and figuring out processes. You have affinity with coaching and leading others. You like to share your knowledge and help other professionals to develop themselves. Of course, you will also help with the monthly closing processes if necessary. Next to this, you will be a linking pin between your and other departments within ABN AMRO. As a result, you are aware of new developments, and you know what is going on within the organization and the impact it can have on Controlling. You are a strong communicator and are able to see the bigger picture. You are also able to properly transfer this knowledge to our users by delivering clear products and documentation. Given the demanding environment that is controlling, you need to make a good distinction between what is important and what is not by setting priorities and saying ‘no’ nicely if necessary.

- Proficient in performing data analysis using SQL;
- In-depth knowledge on Data warehousing , data modelling and datamanagement. Hands on with any ETL tool is an advantage;
- Communication skills, able to translate stakeholder requirements into functional design and explain them to IT developers;
- Able to perform functional validation, testing and managing stakeholder’s expectations;
- Knowledge on Azure & Azure Data services are a big advantage;
- Affinity with IT & Innovation to be able to fulfil a bridge between business and IT;
- At least 7-10 years of work experience in the field of data- and change management, preferably within Finance/Controlling. Having managerial experience is a definitive advantage;
- Knowledge of Agile/ DevOps/ portfolio management is a plus.
