You help realise the delivery of the ABN AMRO strategy: a Personal Bank in a Digital Age. You ensure that the entire bank follows the correct route towards a fully data driven organisation. From shaping new concepts to designing and guiding data management initiatives. You are able to quickly submerge yourself in a brand-new initiative, shape it  and ensure it is properly anchored for successful execution.

Your job

As Data Management Performance Expert, your job is to define and own the Data Management Performance Framework. This framework provides insight on data execution throughout ABN AMRO, and enables ABN AMRO in steering towards data and business objectives. In doing so, you bring the mentality: “what gets measured, gets done!”.

The results you contribute to:
Design, own, and evangelise the Data Management Performance Framework across the Bank – to enable group-wide steering on Data Management up to Executive Board and Supervisory Board level;
Define data management KPIs and Steering Elements, and set periodical targets for ABN AMRO to follow;
Establish a strong relation with different Data Management stakeholders outside the CDO, and collaborate with the CDO – Portfolio Management team to enable their operational performance management activities.

Furthermore, you are an active contributor to the overall team responsibilities:

  • Designing and driving processes to formalise Data Management artefacts such as standards and guidelines;
  • Providing expert guidance and support in adopting Data Management artefacts;
  • Controlling adherence to the Data Management artefacts;
  • Running the corporate governance Data Committee;
  • Driving awareness of Data Governance.

This role requires switching context quickly, being action oriented while having strong conceptual capabilities with an understanding of Data Governance and Management, risk management and foremost you are able to inspire stakeholders to take action.

Working environment

You operate in the following organisation:

  • You are part of the Central Data Office – Data Governance – Governance & Control department
  • You interact with other department (including Portfolio Management) in the Central Data Office to align on performance reporting
  • You interact with Data Domain Organisations to implement the Data Management Performance Framework
  • You interact with stakeholders throughout the bank to strengthen alignment with bank-wide (performance) initiatives (like Objective Key Results framework, Key Risk Indicator steering elements, remuneration structure)

The team you become part of is in constant collaboration with all business units, international branches and subsidiaries of the bank. We all work together at the frontier of the largest data revolution in the banking industry and with the core value-assets of the organization.

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree required, preferably in Information Sciences, Business Information Management, Data Management, Legal, Compliance or a related field (like Risk Management)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across departments and disciplines
  • At least 4 years work experience in general
  • Experience in driving KPI definitions & target setting processes
  • Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related roles (you are familiar with DAMA DMBOK, Data Mesh, BCBS239, etc.)
  • Result-oriented
  • Data-driven mentality and experience
  • Understanding of the way of working with 3 lines of defense
